A domestic airport is proposed to be
set up at Tsiethu near Kohima, the capital of Nagaland. The project is being
taken up under the initiative of the State Home Minister, Mr Neiphiu Rio.
Consultants of the State Transport Department
are carrying out a survey of the project and are expected to submit their preliminary
report by June 2001.
The State Government is also considering
the setting up of another airport in Paren sub-division of Kohima district,
around 80 km from Dimapur.
