The new terminal at Rajahmundry Airport in Andhra Pradesh’s East Godavari district is nearing completion, with Union Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu confirming that it will be inaugurated soon.
Construction work on the facility has been progressing rapidly, and authorities have been directed to ensure that the project is completed by 31 March. The Minister recently conducted an on-site inspection to evaluate the pace of construction and held discussions with officials from the Airports Authority of India as well as representatives of the executing agency to review timelines and operational readiness. The terminal, once operational, is expected to enhance passenger capacity, improve facilities, and support the growing air traffic in the region.
The project is part of broader efforts to modernise regional airports and strengthen air connectivity across Andhra Pradesh. Speaking about the progress, Minister Naidu said, “The new terminal at Rajahmundry Airport is nearing completion and will be inaugurated shortly as works are moving ahead at a brisk pace.”
