Amara Raja Batteries (ARBL) has commissioned India’s largest two-wheeler battery plant at the Amara Raja Growth Corridor in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh.
The plant will have a capacity of five million units in Phase-I, which will be eventually ramped up to 17 million units.
The estimated cost of the project is Rs 700 crore. The total capacity for two-wheeler batteries will be raised to 29 million units.
The plant will employ 1,300 people at full capacity.
The plant is also installed with 2.7 MW of roof top solar power which generates 4.5 million kWh of energy.
