Amazon Web Services (AWS) has committed to Rs. 60,000 crore investment in expanding its data centres in Hyderabad, Telangana. The announcement came following a meeting at the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2025 in Davos, Switzerland, between AWS Global Public Policy Vice President Michael Punke, Telangana's IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu, and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
Previously, AWS had invested approx. USD one billion to establish three data centres in Telangana and planned to invest USD 4.4 billion by 2030 for further cloud infrastructure development. The Telangana government has also agreed to facilitate land allocation for AWS's expansion. With this investment, Hyderabad is set to become a key data centre hub in India, positioning itself as a leader in the sector.
This investment aims to enhance AWS's cloud services in India, including future AI developments.
