AmpIn Energy Transition will set up a 33 MW solar power plant in Maharashtra to supply green energy to auto-components maker Varroc. For this purpose, a power purchase agreement (PPA) has been inked between these two companies on 20 September, 2023.
This partnership has been established to generate 33.1 MWp of solar power for Varroc's manufacturing facilities in Maharashtra. The collaboration leverages AmpIn's solar portfolio in Maharashtra, including its 105 MWp solar park in Parbhani.
The effort is expected to provide 65-75 percent of the power required across seven production units of Varroc. The plant is intended to help reduce CO2 emissions by 43,296 tonne annually. Through this alliance, Varroc anticipates a considerable reduction in its carbon footprint as well as an effort to position itself as an auto industry pioneer committed to sustainable and progressive business practices.
AmpIn, a renewable energy transition platform, holds a total portfolio of three GW spread across 17 states in the country.
