Delhi-based real estate developer Anant Raj plans to develop 300 MW data centre buildings with an investment of Rs 10,000 crore over the next few years.
The strategy involves transforming its three pre-existing buildings in Manesar, Rai and Panchkula in Haryana, as these together have the potential to accommodate 300 MW of data. The company, operating in the real estate domain has established a subsidiary named Anant Raj Cloud to manage its data centre operations.
In Manesar, the project is designed to reach a capacity of 50 MW, with 21 MW ready, while the site at Rai can accommodate a 200 MW data centre. Additionally, Panchkula can support a 50 MW data centre. The company has initiated the process with Manesar and would proceed with converting other buildings to data centre specifications, as per market-led demand in future.
In Manesar, the company holds 1.2 million sq. ft. on a 10-acre site, 2.1 million sq. ft. on a 25-acre plot in Rai, with the possibility for doubling capacity, and 5,00,000 sq. ft. on a 10-acre land in Panchkula.
Further, the data centre market has witnessed transactions for about 500 acres of land, led by Mumbai (45 percent), followed by Hyderabad and Pune with 26 percent and 14 percent respectively.
