The Andhra Pradesh government has allocated 480 acres of land in Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli districts for the establishment of a one GW AI data centre.
The land, originally allotted to Raiden Infotech India, will now be transferred to Adani Infra (India) and its partners, including Google and Google Cloud, who remain committed to the project. The data centre will adhere to global standards, ensuring high-quality infrastructure, as outlined in the detailed project report (DPR) submitted in August. Google’s AI hub in Visakhapatnam will be developed as a multi-faceted investment over five years (2026-2030), featuring gigawatt-scale data centre operations supported by a subsea cable network and clean energy.
This project aims to address India’s growing AI workload needs. The initiative will be implemented in collaboration with ecosystem partners such as AdaniConneX and Airtel, marking a significant step toward boosting AI capabilities in the country.
