The Andhra Pradesh government has announced plans to establish a 23,000-acre industrial park in Sri Sathya Sai district, located near the Bengaluru National Highway, about 75 km from Devanahalli airport.
The park will be divided into 16 sector-specific zones covering aerospace, space, electronics, drones, and IT. Master planning is being handled by Lee and Associates, the firm behind the Visakhapatnam city plan. Of the total land, 8,844 acres were earlier allotted to the Lepakshi Knowledge Hub, which later faced legal disputes.
The Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) is now acquiring 14,000 acres, including 2,000 acres near Tekulodu. Farmer compensation has been set at Rs seven to 14 lakh per acre, amounting to nearly Rs 800 crore. To fund this, APIIC is negotiating loans, following state approval to raise Rs 2,000 crore.
Officials expect the park’s proximity to Bengaluru and Chennai to draw major IT and industrial investments. The master plan is scheduled for completion by December.
