Andhra Pradesh is set to introduce two pioneering geothermal tourism projects in Araku Valley and Visakhapatnam, marking India’s first large-scale geothermal pilot initiatives in the tourism sector.
Energy Efficiency Services (EESL) is driving the project, aligned with the Union government’s green energy vision. The projects will demonstrate geothermal energy systems, using the earth's stable underground temperature for sustainable heating and cooling, enhancing both energy efficiency and visitor comfort.
The announcement followed key discussions between EESL CEO Akhilesh Kumar Dixit, AP Tourism officials, and government representatives.
