The Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) Minister, Dr. P Narayana, has announced the establishment of four high-standard educational institutions to provide corporate-level education for underprivileged students.
Inspired by Minister Nara Lokesh’s vision, these institutions, including Nellore’s VR High School, will each cater to 2,000 students, offering free uniforms, books, and meals from nursery to 12th grade. The state government has also allocated Rs two crore to install gym and sports equipment in municipal schools, beginning with Santapeta Model School and BVS Girls’ High School in Nawabpet.
Officials have been instructed to clean Santapeta Model School within 48 hours and submit a sports development report within a week. The installation of gym equipment across all municipal schools is expected to be completed by March-end. An amount of Rs 2,500 crore had been invested in Nellore’s development since 2014 and the installation of gym equipment in 20 parks will be completed by February-end, the Minister informed.
