Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta announced that three projects worth Rs 252 crore have been approved to strengthen drinking water supply in Rohtak, Haryana.
The projects include a Rs 210-crore initiative to enhance the capacity of waterworks serving Paharawar, Kanheli, Baliyana, Bohar, Sunaria Khurd, Sunaria Kalan, and Kheri Sadh, while also linking them directly to the Jawaharlal Nehru Canal. A Rs 16.35-crore project will replace old and damaged pipelines, and another Rs 26-crore project will construct a rising main from the Sonepat Road waterworks to the Jawaharlal Nehru Canal along with an SS tank.
DC Gupta visited several colonies, tested household water quality, and took feedback from residents. He inspected waterworks on Jhajjar Road, checked tanks, purification systems, and conducted on-the-spot purity tests. He also reviewed the 20 MLD sewage treatment plant (STP) at Kanheli village and the boosting station in the Sugar Mill area. Officials assured visible improvements in facilities within a month.
