Aster DM Healthcare has announced a Rs 1,900 crore capital expenditure plan to expand its hospital network across India, aiming to increase its total bed capacity to 13,600 by FY27. This growth initiative follows the merger of Aster DM Healthcare and Quality Care India (QCIL), creating a stronger unified healthcare provider with enhanced operational efficiency and patient care. Of the Rs 1,878 crore total capex, Rs 323 crore has already been spent in FY25.
As part of the expansion, the merged entity will add 3,300 beds organically - 2,100 by Aster and 1,200 by QCIL. Bengaluru will see the addition of 939 beds, including a new hospital on Sarjapur Road, positioning Aster among the city’s top three healthcare providers. Kerala will get 818 beds through two greenfield hospitals in Kasargod with 264 beds, and Trivandrum with 454 beds, while Hyderabad will host a 300-bed women and children's hospital.
Robotic-assisted surgeries form a key part of Aster’s advanced oncology services, utilising cutting-edge platforms like the Da Vinci Robot and SSI Mantra. In FY25, the Group performed 1,865 robotic surgeries and 575 transplants.
