Astonfield Renewables is planning to set up two solar power projects of two MW each in Mauritius. The projects will come up with an investment of approximately $8.2 million.
Out of the two solar projects, one will come up in Union Flacq and the other in La Gaulette. The Union Flacq project will be jointly developed with Alteo Energy. The projects are coming up under the Mauritius government’s 10 MW solar photovoltaic programme.
Astonfield Renewables is one of the three companies to have been awarded this tender capturing 40 per cent of the allocated projects.
Astonfield owns and operates several solar power plants across India, including a five MW solar plant in Osiyan, Rajasthan; 11.5 MW plant in Patan, Gujarat; and two MW plant in Jhansi District, Uttar Pradesh.
It is one of the first multi-national solar project developers to win a utility scale solar PV power project in Africa.
