Bharat Electronics (BEL) has achieved a significant sustainability milestone with the inauguration of a 210 KWp Rooftop Solar Power Plant (RTSSP) at its Bengaluru Complex.
This new addition brings BEL’s total rooftop solar capacity to 2.6 MWp, making the company the first defence public sector undertaking (PSU) in India to achieve RE100 status. BEL now meets 100 percent of its electricity needs through renewable energy sources. The company’s journey began in 2012 with a modest 30 KWp installation, steadily expanding its green footprint over the years.
As part of its vision to become a Net Zero company, BEL continues to lead in environmental responsibility within India’s defence and manufacturing sectors.
