BOC India is planning to set up a liquid gas
plant in Hyderabad with an investment of Rs.65 crore. The gas plant would have a
capacity of 190 tonnes per day.
The new plant will produce liquid oxygen,
nitrogen and argon and would meet the need for an exclusive merchant plant for
southern India. The commercial production is expected by October 2005.
The plant would target the pharmaceutical,
biotechnology, fabrication and metal cutting industries in South India.
Meanwhile the company's project engineering
division has also won number of contracts for setting up liquid gas plants for
third parties. Some such contracts have been undertaken for Kochi Refineries and
Hindustan Zinc.
