Baettr, the Danish renewable energy equipment manufacturer, has broken ground on a capacity expansion at its wind turbine casting facility, at the SIPCOT Industrial Park in Thervoy Kandigai, Gummidipoondi, near Chennai.
The Rs 73 crore expansion will bring the total investment in the facility to approx. Rs 280 crore. Once completed, the facility’s annual production capacity for saleable castings will increase from 27,500 tonne to 95,040 tonne, nearly quadrupling its current capacity. This expansion comes in response to the rising demand from wind turbine original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and highlights Tamil Nadu’s growing importance as a manufacturing hub in the renewable energy sector.
The project underscores the state's role in supporting the global transition to renewable energy. Baettr’s investment reflects a strong commitment to meeting the needs of the expanding renewable energy market.
