Envision Energy India has secured a 300 MW order from UPC Renewables India for the supply of 60 wind turbine generators (WTGs) based on the EN 182|5 MW turbine platform.
The turbines will be deployed in upcoming projects in Karnataka, specifically in Bijapur, where favourable monsoonal wind patterns and terrain make it an ideal location for wind energy production. Envision's five-MW high-performance turbines are designed with a 182mtrs. rotor diameter and 140m hub height, suited for the Indian wind regime. These turbines are expected to generate approx. 900 million units of renewable energy annually. The first 20 WTGs, accounting for 100 MW of the order, will be delivered in early 2026, as part of a power delivery agreement with SJVN.
The EN 182|5 MW turbines offer over 40 percent higher energy output compared to previous platforms, ensuring the lowest levelised cost of energy, as per Envision Energy India.
