Inox Wind, a leading manufacturer of wind turbine generators and components, plans to invest Rs 400 crore to establish a new manufacturing facility at Kyadigoppa Industrial Area, Kushtagi taluk, Koppal district, Karnataka.
The project, supported by the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB), will be executed in two phases, with Rs 300 crore invested initially and Rs 100 crore in the second phase. Large and Medium Industries Minister M B Patil announced that the facility is expected to create around 1,000 direct employment. The company selected this site due to its proximity to the National Highway, essential for transporting large turbine blades and towers. Initially interested in Vijayapura district, Inox Wind shifted the location owing to the lack of suitable industrial land near the highway there.
The new plant will produce wind turbine towers, blades, and pillars, boosting Karnataka’s renewable energy manufacturing sector.
