The construction of the Bhogapuram International Airport is 91.7 percent complete, and the Bhogapuram International Airport is set for trial operations next month, as announced by Civil Aviation Minister, Kinjarau Rammohan Naidu.
During his visit to the site with Vizianagaram MP Kalisetty Appala Naidu, the Minister highlighted that the airport's development aims to reflect the region's cultural heritage while boosting local employment opportunities. The ongoing infrastructure includes rapid development of taxiways and runways. Rammohan Naidu also revealed plans to attract aviation companies, with discussions underway to launch flights from the airport.
Furthermore, efforts are being made to establish a nearby aviation university, alongside the construction of five-star hotels to complement the facility. In addition, skill development centres will be set up in Srikakulam and Bhogapuram to enhance local workforce skills. The minister hopes to invite Prime Minister Modi for the airport's inauguration.
