The initial bids for constructing the Navi Mumbai international airport is expected to be opened in the second week of January 2017.
The project will be developed through public-private partnership by setting up a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV). City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (CIDCO) has proposed the development of the project.
The project will spread over 2,268 ha of land, of which 1,160 ha will be used for aeronautical purposes.
The estimated cost of the entire project is Rs 14,574 crore, including cost of the pre-development works which is estimated at Rs 2,358 crore, as per FY 2013.
Companies such as GVK, GMR, Hiranandani, and Tata are likely to have placed their bids for the project.
