Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on 25 August, 2025 launched development projects worth Rs 1,056 crore for Patna’s central urban area, fulfilling promises made during his ‘Pragati Yatra.’
At Patel Golambar, the CM laid the foundation for a Rs 196-crore four-lane road with an underground drain along Serpentine Canal, easing travel to the Secretariat, Rajdhani Vatika, and the airport while enhancing city aesthetics. At Dak Bungalow Chowk, a Rs 328-crore project to underground power cables was launched to modernise Patna’s electrical infrastructure. The CM also initiated Rs 30-crore hostel renovations across colleges and universities.
Near the Commissioner’s office, he unveiled the Rs 48-crore Patna Haat near Gandhi Maidan and a Rs 52-crore connecting road linking Mandiri Nala to J P Ganga Path. Additionally, he launched the Rs 387-crore J P Ganga Path Samagra Udyan Project (Phase-1), creating a seven-km green open space between Digha and Gandhi Maidan, and a Rs 12-crore promenade from Sabhyata Dwar to Collectorate Ghat. Nitish highlighted J P Ganga Path’s role in boosting tourism, connectivity, and socio-economic growth for Patna’s residents.
