The Bihar government has planned to develop a nuclear plant of around 3,000 MW at Rajauli in Nawada district of Bihar.
The move is an attempt to become power surplus and raise the share of its renewable energy.
The government has finalised the location and it will require 3,000 acre to set up the project. The proposed nuclear plant will have four units of around 700 MW each.
Atomic Energy Commission has surveyed the location at Rajauli. An agreement letter from the water resources department has been sent to the Central Water Commission and approval for the same is awaited.
