Brigade Hotel Ventures (BHVL), the second-largest private owner of chain-affiliated hotels in South India, has signed a landmark multi-deal agreement with Marriott International to develop six hotels totalling 940 rooms across Chennai, Bengaluru, Thiruvananthapuram, and Vaikom Island.
The expansion will feature five Marriott Bonvoy brands — The Ritz-Carlton, JW Marriott, Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Courtyard by Marriott, and Fairfield by Marriott. The properties include “Courtyard by Marriott Chennai World Trade Center” with 45 rooms by FY 2027, “Fairfield by Marriott Bengaluru International Airport” with 224 rooms, by FY 2028, “Fairfield by Marriott Bengaluru Brigade Valencia” with 151 rooms, by FY 2028.
“The Ritz-Carlton Vaikom Island” will have 70 villas, targeted by FY 2029, and “JW Marriott Chennai OMR” will have 250 rooms in FY 2030, and “Thiruvananthapuram Marriott Hotel World Trade Center” with 200 rooms by FY 2030.
With these additions, BHVL’s Marriott portfolio will grow to eight hotels with 1,388 keys. Executive Chairman M.R. Jaishankar said the projects underscore BHVL’s “belief in the longterm growth potential of India’s hospitality sector” and commitment to delivering high-quality hotels for business and leisure travelers.
