On 05 February, 2025, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar launched 160 development projects worth Rs 438.51 crore in Munger district as part of his ‘Pragati Yatra.’
New initiatives including an industrial park in Sangrampur, a new degree college in Asarganj, and a four-lane ring road to improve access to the Bihar School of Yoga were announced. The industrial park, spanning 300 acres, is expected to boost industry and job creation, while the new college aims to provide education opportunities locally for female students.
The CM visited Tarapur block, inspecting schools, Anganwadi centres, and a pond built under the Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Abhiyan. He also reviewed the construction of a seven-km bypass road to ease traffic in Tarapur.
Additionally, a water project to bring Ganges water to Kharagpur Lake was announced to aid irrigation.
