Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for various development works worth around Rs 1,249 crore in Indore district on 20 December, 2024.
The projects inaugurated or foundation stones were laid for included the construction of a new sports complex behind Kasturba Garden, beautification and widening of a junction in ward number 34, and the development of new roads as per the Master Plan. This includes laying a new water distribution pipeline, a new sewer line in the Smart City ABD area, and the inauguration of a 100-tonne green waste plant. Moreover, the CM said that Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country to undertake two river-linking projects simultaneously.
He inaugurated Indore Municipal Corporation's document digitisation project. Chief Minister Yadav also announced plans to rebuild Nehru Stadium and organise an IT summit to leverage the city's potential in the IT sector. Additionally, a new, grand building for the Indore Municipal Corporation will be constructed. Overall, the Chief Minister emphasised that along with being a smart city and a clean city, now Indore has become a global city.
