In a significant move towards sustainable mining and energy transition, the Central Mine Planning and Design Institute (CMPDI) has entered into a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with Northern Coalfields (NCL) to provide solar project management consultancy (PMC) services.
The collaboration aims to transform NCL into a net-zero company by developing large-scale solar power projects. CMPDI, leveraging its technical expertise, will manage all stages of solar project development —from planning to monitoring, helping NCL achieve its renewable energy targets while reducing carbon emissions.
This initiative aligns with the Coal India ecosystem's broader commitment to environmental sustainability and lessening reliance on conventional energy sources across mining operations.
