The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) has invited bids for construction of Vice President Enclave at New Delhi.
The proposed Vice President Enclave will be constructed in a plot of L&M Block adjacent to the existing North Block, New Delhi. The existing temporary/permanent/semi-permanent structure of L&M Block will be dismantled before the start of new construction.
The estimated value of the project is Rs 192 crore with completion period of 10 months.
The proposed Vice President Enclave will be of reinforced cement concrete framed structure building. The existing offices of North Block will continue to function during the entire period of execution of this project, therefore utmost care is required to minimise construction noise, dust-free area and other construction activity-related issues.
The total plinth area of the proposed buildings in the Enclave is approximately 20,000 sqmtr. The buildings will be basement + ground + first floor.
The Vice President Enclave consists of mainly the following building components -- Vice President Residence, Secretariat, CPWD, barracks, guest house, sports facility, staff quarters and ancillary buildings.
The work includes construction of civil structure, MEP services, digital communication system, sub-station, security systems, furniture, interiors and landscaping. It also involves stone cladding, stone carving, woodwork, fresco and art work.
The maintenance of the building and operation and maintenance of electrical equipment for a period of five years from the date of completion of the work will also be a part of the contract for construction.
