The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has launched a case-by-case audit of stalled renewable energy projects lacking power sale agreements (PSAs), with a detailed report expected in 30-45 days.
Currently, 43.9 GW of awarded green energy projects, including solar and wind, are unable to sign PSAs due to demand shifting toward continuous renewable power with storage. Distribution companies are now seeking power solutions that can supply energy even when solar and wind resources are unavailable. The government is prioritising the resolution of PSA issues rather than new tenders for renewable energy capacities.
Minister Pralhad Joshi also highlighted the importance of the Green Energy Corridor-III for project evacuation, which remains a key concern for delayed project implementation.
