The Rs 3,167-crore Chandigarh–Ambala Greenfield Corridor, spanning 61.23 km over 395 hectares, is nearing completion.
Designed to ease congestion in Chandigarh, Zirakpur, Panchkula, Mohali, and Kharar, the expressway will also improve connectivity from Delhi and Haryana to Chandigarh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir. Package-2 (31.23 km), known as the Mohali–Kurali bypass, runs from IT City Chowk in Mohali to Kurali on the Kurali–Siswan road. At 95 percent completion, it is set to open by September 30, costing Rs 1,525.3 crore.
Package1 (30 km) links Devinagar village on the Ambala–Hisar road to IT City Chowk, covering 18 hectares with 43.42 km of service roads, seven flyovers, 19 underpasses, and eight bridges. Built at Rs 1,641.66 crore, it is due for 31 March, 2026.
NHAI officials said the access-controlled, high-embankment route will bypass traffic-heavy towns, decongest Mohali’s Airport Road, and cut travel time to Delhi and northern states. The project is already spurring real estate and infrastructure growth around IT City, New Chandigarh, Kharar, and Kurali.
