Waterless personal hygiene solutions provider Clensta is planning to set up a manufacturing facility in Hyderabad, Telangana at an investment of about USD five million.
The company will be launching a waterless anti-mosquito product and waterless toothpaste in six months. It is selling its products to hospitals, the armed forces, adventurers and railway travellers, among others.
The Delhi-based healthcare start-up has a presence in 29 countries across the globe besides the domestic market. The plan is for a plant that can produce two lakh 100 ml bottles per day.
With IIT-Delhi as the research partner, the company started in 2016 and began commercial launch of a waterless body bath and shampoo about a year ago, manufacturing the products in Maharashtra.
The Hyderabad plant will be crucial from a perspective of addressing the demand for the products in the southern region. The company is planning a foray into Tier-II and III cities, making their products available through e-commerce portals and OTC. Clensta is in process of raising an additional USD five to USD 10 million by FY20.
