Mysuru residents’ long-standing demand for a flyover at Manipal Hospital Junction on the Bengaluru–Mysuru Highway is finally set to become a reality, as the process for construction began on January 20.
This follows the issuance of an official order by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). This comes after consistent efforts by Mysuru MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, who had been actively pursuing the issue with NHAI officials, including Chief Engineer Umashankar.
In a statement, MP Wadiyar emphasised that the flyover at Kempegowda Circle was approved after numerous representations and meetings with NHAI, addressing the public's demand. He highlighted that the flyover would reduce accidents, alleviate traffic congestion, and shorten travel time, ensuring smoother access to and from Mysuru. MP Wadiyar had also met with NHAI officials in New Delhi to push for the project’s expedited implementation.
