CtrlS Datacenters has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with NTPC Green Energy (NGEL) to jointly develop renewable energy projects with a capacity of at least two GW.

The collaboration aims to power CtrlS’s data centers with clean energy, reinforcing its commitment to achieving net-zero operations. The projects will be developed through greenfield initiatives and acquisitions for captive consumption or other mutually agreed ventures. The MoU, signed by CtrlS Founder & CEO Sridhar Pinnapureddy and NGEL CEO Sarit Maheshwari, will remain in effect for two years with an option to extend. NGEL, a subsidiary of NTPC, currently has over 8.9 GW of operational capacity and 13 GW under implementation, targeting 60 GW by 2032.

The partnership marks a crucial step toward sustainable digital infrastructure. Established in 2007, CtrlS operates 16 data centres across India and is expanding globally, including in the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
