CtrlS Datacenters, headquartered in Hyderabad, has inaugurated its first greenfield facility in Kolkata’s Bengal Silicon Valley, marking the region’s first Rated-4 datacentre.
The launch is part of the company’s Rs 2,200- crore investment to develop eastern India’s datacentre ecosystem. In its initial phase, the facility offers 16 MW of IT load capacity, with a four-phase expansion plan targeting over 60 MW to meet the growing needs of enterprises, government bodies, and hyperscalers.
Founder and CEO Sridhar Pinnapureddy highlighted that eastern India is poised for a “digital leap,” supported by conducive state policies, and is set to become a hub for innovation and growth. CtrlS currently operates 15 datacentres across eight Indian markets and aims to enter new overseas markets in Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
The Kolkata project is expected to play a strategic role in enhancing regional digital infrastructure, supporting cloud adoption, and fostering economic growth in the eastern corridor.
