Danfoss India, the Indian subsidiary of Danfoss Global, today inaugurated its new manufacturing, Research and Development campus in Chennai.
The plant in Oragadam, near Chennai, has been set up with an investment of Rs 500 crore and has a one MW solar power plant. It will generate electricity sufficient to power 10 per cent of campus electricity requirements and is expected to generate 1.5 million units per annum.
This new campus is incorporated with facilities for research and development, skill development, and product development along with a customer application development centre and testing labs, with a focus on innovation for customized solutions.
The plant has features which include energy-efficient structural glazing, reuse of construction waste generated, use of recycled material as much as possible, insulated roofs to minimize heat ingress, roofs with natural lighting and a courtyard (2x500 sq mtr) inside the administrative building.
Danfoss Group has 59 factories in 17 countries with 22,500 employees. Their products are being sold in over 100 countries with sales offices in 58 countries.
