The Mumbai-Delhi industrial corridor is likely to face further delay due to land acquisition issues and protests from the public.
Around 75,000 acre of land will be required in Raigad district of Maharashtra. The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation is the nodal agency for the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor project passing through the state, and has already communicated to the government that acquisition of such land looks impractical.
Due to issues among the farmers from Raigad district, the government is likely to stay the acquisition of 75,000 acre of land for the DMIC project as a whole.
