Dixon Technologies has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu government to set up a Rs 1,000 crore electronic manufacturing facility in Oragadam, located in the Kancheepuram district near Chennai.
The MoU was signed during a formal ceremony at the Tamil Nadu Secretariat in the presence of Chief Minister MK Stalin, Industries Minister TRB Rajaa, and senior officials. Sunil Vachani, Executive Chairman of Dixon Technologies, exchanging documents with Darez Ahamed, MD and CEO of Tamil Nadu’s Guidance Bureau.
The upcoming facility will be housed at the Indospace Industrial Park in Oragadam, approx. 45 km south of Chennai. It will focus on manufacturing laptops, all-in-one personal computers, and offer electronic manufacturing services (EMS) to a variety of partner companies. The factory is expected to generate employment for 5,000 persons in the region, bolstering the state’s push towards industrial growth and employment generation.
