The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has submitted a draft detailed project report (DPR) to the Haryana government for the proposed Gurugram-Greater Noida Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS) corridor.
The Rs15,000 crore project aims to significantly reduce travel times, cutting the commute from IFFCO Chowk to Faridabad to just 22 minutes and to Noida in 38 minutes, easing pressure on Delhi’s transport system. The corridor will pass through key locations like Sector-54, Faridabad’s Bata Chowk, and Noida’s Sector-142/168, with six stations bypassing Delhi. However, the alignment and station planning are still under discussion.
NCRTC has planned the corridor as an elevated line, but the Haryana government has proposed an underground route within Gurugram due to high land costs and dense urbanisation. This project is part of a broader connectivity plan linking key cities and airports, with other RRTS corridors awaiting clearance. As officials continue discussions, the project’s final design will evolve.
