The e-tendering process for the multi-modal transportation hub (MMTH) project at Surat railway station will commence from 15 February, 2017.
The government has sanctioned a 90 year lease for the railway land for the proposed project.
The Indian Railways through IRSDC, Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC), and Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) will jointly develop the project on design, build, finance, operate and transfer (DBFOT) basis.
The project mainly includes redevelopment of the railway station and GSRTC bus terminal, offering east-west road connectivity and improvement of common facilities.
The project also includes commercial development on encumbrance-free project land of around 2,50,000 sq mtr in the central part of the city.
Around 30 national and international companies have been qualified in the RfQ and RfP bidding.
