EKA Mobility has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with KPIT Technologies to develop advanced powertrain components for electric commercial vehicles, including e-buses and other commercial vehicles (CVs).
The collaboration aims to enhance energy efficiency and reduce the total cost of ownership for fleet operators, ultimately accelerating India’s shift toward zero-emission mobility solutions. The partnership will focus on developing traction motors, controllers, vehicle control units, and battery management systems. By combining EKA’s manufacturing capabilities with KPIT’s three decades of expertise in mobility technology, the companies intend to deliver innovative and cost-competitive electric powertrain solutions for the growing EV market in India.
“This collaboration underscores our commitment to redefining mobility by delivering sustainable, and efficient electric vehicles to our customers. By leveraging KPIT's expertise in electric powertrain technologies, we aim to accelerate India's transition to zero-emission commercial vehicles,” Founder and Chairman of EKA Mobility, Sudhir Mehta said.
KPIT Technologies, known for its extensive portfolio of indigenously developed electric powertrain solutions, offers technologies that promise high efficiency and competitive costs.
