Rajasthan's Irrigation Minister, Suresh Rawat has announced that the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) is on track to be completed by December 2027.
The Minister emphasised that engineers are working tirelessly near Keshoraipatan on the Chambal River. He also highlighted that tenders worth Rs 14,000 crore have already been issued for the second phase of the project, which aims to provide irrigation benefits to 17 districts. He credited the current government for initiating ground-level work.
Additionally, Minister Rawat mentioned ongoing preparations for a detailed project report (DPR) to address irrigation and drinking water needs in Mewar, as well as a DPR for Yamuna River water supply to Sikar, Jhunjhunu, and Churu.
