The Amaravati Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) headquarters project, originally conceived in 2017, has taken a significant step forward with the inauguration of its first building by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on 13 October.
Located near Seed Access Road at the E3–N11 junction, the complex spans 4.32 acres and includes a G+7 main building and four pre-engineered building (PEB) blocks. The project, costing Rs 373.20 crore, aims to serve as the permanent administrative hub for APCRDA and related institutions. The main building features the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) for real-time city monitoring, while the PEB blocks house various government departments.
The project office has also earned the Indian Green Building Council’s Net Zero Energy Design certification, underscoring its sustainability. The inauguration marks renewed momentum for Amaravati after delays caused by political and legal challenges.
