Fortis Healthcare will invest up to Rs 1,300 crore towards expanding capacity at its existing hospitals over the next few years. The healthcare provider aims to add around 2,200 beds over the next few years. Thus the capex incurred will include addition of bed capacity, and equipment as well.
The bed capacity augmentation will be carried out at various existing facilities, including hospitals in Faridabad, Haryana and Anandpur Sahib, Punjab. At Faridabad, it has plans to further expand operations, and in Anandpur, the healthcare organisation has acquired a company with a different land parcel. Post expansion of these 100 beds, another 50 beds will be added in the next financial year in this unit.
Moreover, at Shalimar Bagh in Delhi, Fortis is building another tower in the adjacent plot for adding 200-plus beds. Further, it expects to commence its facility in Manesar, Hayana with initial 100 beds by the second quarter of this financial year.
in Kolkata, West Begal, Fortis is adding 100 beds at a facility for which it has received all the approvals. Besides, it s expecting the occupancy certificate (OC) for the Bengaluru facility (BG Road) in Q2 of this FY. The company currently has over 4,500 operational beds across 28 hospitals in the country.
