Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar laid the foundation stone for 12-storey Bihar Sadan, a new guest house in Delhi on 2 May 2018.
The well-equipped building will come up on a two acre land in Dwarka Sector-19 area at a cost of Rs 78.78 crore.
Once completed, it will provide staying accommodation for dignitaries from the state, including governors, CMs, ministers, legislators, high court judges and state government officials and state government guests from other places.
After Bihar Bhawan and Bihar Niwas, Bihar Sadan will be the third guest house of state government in Delhi.
The construction work is expected to be completed in a period of 18 months. The proposed building will have 10 floors besides basement and ground floor. It will have 118 rooms, besides a conference room for 200 people and cafeteria for 180 people.
It will also have an exhibition area for 200 people and car parking for 224 vehicles. Of total 118 rooms, there would be eight VIP suites, two VVIP suites, 89 double-bed rooms and 19 single-bed rooms.
