The foundation stone has been laid for Hydro Engineering College in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the project. The college is being constructed at an expenditure of Rs 146.00 crore, of which NHPC and NTPC are contributing Rs 75 crore as industry partners.
The state government has allotted 12.40 acre of land in Bandla, Bilaspur district. NHPC and NTPC will also consider releasing the second tranche of upto Rs 25 crore each, as per requirement, for running expenses of the college.
The college will be affiliated to the Himachal Pradesh Technical University.
