The Uttar Pradesh Government has shortlisted GMR Infrastructure, GVK Infra,
L&T and Gammon India for the proposed Kushinagar international airport project
located on the East-West Corridor.
The Uttar Pradesh Tourism Development Department is seeking financial
proposals from the companies on 4 March 2010.
While the department is already in talks with the Air Force, Home, Finance
and Civil Aviation ministries for the required clearances, it has already been
recommended by the Airports Authority of India and by the DGCA.
Meanwhile, the state government has released a Rs 156-crore loan for
acquiring 550 acre land needed for the airport.
