The Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA) has initiated procedures to publish the notification for land pooling for Infopark Phase III, Kerala’s first such initiative.
The project envisions a 300-acre advanced IT campus across Kizhakkambalam and Kunnathunadu, with GCDA pooling nearly 1,000 acres. A government order last year empowered GCDA to execute this special task, overcoming jurisdictional hurdles through a fresh order issued last month.
The process begins with publishing a notification detailing the pooling area, survey numbers, and boundary maps, followed by meetings with landowners. If 75 percent consent is achieved, GCDA will proceed with project planning, public consultations, and final approval. Landowners will receive a percentage of developed land post-implementation; otherwise, alternative sites will be identified.
Phase III will incorporate carbon neutrality, water self-sufficiency, comprehensive waste management, and strong transport links by road, rail, and air. It will host IT companies, residential areas, commercial hubs, sports and cultural venues, hospitals, and educational institutions. GCDA positions the project as a model for sustainable urban IT development, blending technology growth with community needs.
