SAP has inaugurated its 41-acre India Innovation Park in Devanahalli, Bengaluru, marking its second-largest R&D hub after Germany.
Built in phases, 27 acres are now operational, housing 3,200 employees, with 4,500 more to join in the first phase. Once complete, the campus will accommodate 14,000 staff. Phase two construction will begin soon, targeting Q2–Q3/2028 completion. The project cost exceeds 194 million euros (about Rs 1,730 crore). This is SAP’s second Bengaluru campus, complementing its Whitefield facility. Sindhu Gangadharan, MD of SAP Labs India, called the park “the beating heart of co-innovation” aimed at uniting customers, partners, academia, startups, and communities.
SAP joins Google and Microsoft in expanding Indian R&D presence, reflecting a shift from low-cost outsourcing to high-value innovation hubs. SAP employs over 17,000 in India, with 40% of its global R&D workforce based here. The new campus strengthens SAP’s AI- and cloud-driven innovation strategy.
