GELS 2025, India’s first COP-style platform for interstate clean-energy coordination, concluded with the presentation of the draft Puri Declaration and the signing of four strategic MoUs to accelerate the country’s energy transition.
The two-day summit brought together senior policymakers, industry leaders, global experts, and researchers for panels, technical deep dives, and knowledge-sharing sessions. Key discussions included AI-enabled grid security, carbon markets, cleantech innovation, laying the foundation for a long-term collaborative platform guiding India’s clean, resilient, and innovation-driven energy future. The MoUs signed during the summit aim to advance renewable energy research, pilot projects, and deployment across Odisha.
The first MoU between Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore, GRIDCO, and IIT Bhubaneswar focuses on advancing renewable energy research and pilot projects. The second MoU establishes a Green Hydrogen Centre of Excellence in Odisha with GRIDCO, ReNew, IIT Bhubaneswar, and Avaada. The third MoU formalizes a renewable energy partnership between NLC India, NIRL, OREDA, and GEDCOL. The fourth agreement creates a multi-agency framework for renewable energy development and planning in Odisha, involving SECI, OHPC, GEDCOL, and OREDA.
