Gujarat Industries Power Company (GIPCL) has successfully commissioned the final 135 MW phase of its solar power project at Khavda, Gujarat, bringing the total capacity of the project to 600 MW.
This solar capacity is part of the larger 2,375 MW Renewable Energy Park located at Khavda. GIPCL, a joint venture promoted by Gujarat State Fertilizers and Chemicals (GSFC), Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals (GACL), and Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL), has made significant strides in contributing to the state’s renewable energy capacity.
In January 2024, the company signed an MoU with the Government of Gujarat for the development of 2,375 MW at the Khavda Renewable Energy Park and 1,100 MW of solar projects at Gandhinagar. The company was also allocated 4,750 hectares of land for developing the hybrid renewable energy park, which will include solar, wind, and hybrid energy solutions. GIPCL's efforts are pivotal in supporting Gujarat's renewable energy goals.
