The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has awarded a Rs 104.95 crore contract for the construction of master stormwater drains across sectors 76 to 80, with work set to begin on November 08.

The order, which is expected to take 30 months, will be executed in two phases. Phase I will cover sectors 77-80 and NH-48, while Phase II extends to Manesar–Rampura Chowk. The drainage system is designed to tackle water stagnation issues along NH-48 and surrounding sector roads, offering a permanent solution to the area's flooding problems. This project is part of GMDA's broader drainage plan approved in August.

By enhancing the city's drainage capacity, the initiative aims to reduce urban flooding, improving overall infrastructure and stormwater management in the Gurugram-Manesar region. GMDA officials emphasize that the new system will effectively direct stormwater into existing drainage networks along key road routes.
